Obituary for Janice Hanks Wiles

Janice Hanks Wiles, 71, died April 7, 2018. She was daughter of the late Kenneth and LaVerne Jones. She was predeceased by a brother Dennis Jones.

Survivors include her brother, David Jones of Joshua, TX; sister, Judy Toney and husband Terry of Joshua, TX; sister, Carol Jones of Lakeside, CA; daughter, Cindy Bunch and husband Don of Suffolk, Va.; son, Jason Hanks and wife Lesia of Chatham, Va.; granddaughters Belinda Bryson, Misty McGhee, and Tonie Hanks; and great-grandson Jaxon McGhee.

Janice was born September 26, 1946, in York, Nebraska. She worked at CIT Group in Danville. She was an active member at the North Danville Church of Christ for seven years, where she had many friends. She was also active through her card ministry, sending birthday and get-well wishes to many members.

She loved taking nature walks, visiting historical sights, caring for cats and dogs, and watching butterflies. Jaxon said, “She was the greatest playdough builder I know!”

A memorial service is planned for Sunday, April 15th at 2 p.m. at North Danville Church of Christ, 519 Iris Lane, Danville, VA, 24540. In lieu of flowers, the family requests potable plants or a donation to the American Lung Association.
