Obituary for Alfred Jackson Scearce

Alfred Jackson Scearce, 74, of 740 High Meadow Circle, Dry Fork, Va., passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at his residence. He was born November 29, 1943, in Danville, Va. to the late Arneta Hudgins Scearce and the late Robert W. Scearce, Sr. Mr. Scearce is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Dunn Scearce. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines. Mr. Scearce worked for Associated Services for over 20 years and was also employed with the Chatham Star-Tribune prior to his retirement. He was of the Methodist Faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Scearce is survived by his daughter, Stephanie S. Wagner, and fiancé, Ren Stewart of Greensboro, N.C.; his son, Alfred Jason Scearce, and wife, Kelly of Dry Fork; his brothers, Wayne Scearce of Ringgold, Va., Freddy Scearce of Danville, and Robert Scearce of Ringgold; as well as his grandchildren, Aidan Wagner, Madison Walker, Kaleb Scearce, Ryver Scearce, and Remington Scearce.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Scearce was predeceased by his brothers, Harold Scearce and Donald Scearce.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the residence, 740 High Meadow Circle, Dry Fork.
