Obituary for Clarence Homer Saunders, Jr.

Clarence Homer Saunders, Jr., 77, of 131 Swain Drive, Danville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Sovah Health Danville. He was born May 10, 1940, in Alexandria, Va. to the late Anna Belle Saunders Womack and the late Clarence Homer Saunders, Sr. Mr. Saunders was first married to Dora L. Saunders Mayo; later he married Evangelist Brenda D. Saunders, who preceded him in death. Mr. Saunders worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for over 30 years, prior to his retirement, and was Bishop at New Birth In Christ Church.

Mr. Saunders is survived by his daughter, Kesshia Brown of Danville; his sons, Michael L. Saunders and wife, Stacey, Donald Lee Brown, and Donald Ray Saunders and wife, Tina, all of Danville, and Dennis Wayne Saunders and wife, Tiffany of North Hampton, Penn., and Danny Lee Saunders and wife, Debra of Easton, Penn.; his brother, Bernard Womack of Mitchellville,
Md.; his good friend, Paul Lea of Danville; as well as ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Saunders was predeceased by his sister, Beula Womack; and his brothers, Troy Jones and Robert Saunders.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Outreach Ministries, 114 Lennox Ct. Danville. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
