Obituary for William Lynn Tanksley

William Lynn Tanksley, 53, of Danville, Va., passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was born October 14, 1964, in Danville to William Edward Tanksley and the late Gloria Shumate Tanksley. Mr. Tanksley was employed for years at the offices of CIT, Danville. More recently, he was working with Dollar General. Mr. Tanksley was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved his cat “Kallie.” He was a member of The Tabernacle.

In addition to his father, Mr. Tanksley is survived by his daughters, Katie Tanksley of San Francisco, California, and Kelsey Tanksley of Danville; and his sister, Vanessa Dodson (Lynwood) of Pelham, N.C.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Pastor Joey Bray officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at Highland Burial Park.
