Obituary for Frank "Frankie" Leo Cox, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Frankie Cox announces his passing at the age of 64 on Sunday, March 24, 2019. Frankie went peacefully in his sleep; however, he had been in declining health since 2004 when he suffered his first heart attack.

Frankie was born in Danville, VA to Frank L. Cox, Sr. and Hazel Scearce Cox on October 26, 1954. Frankie will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 38 years, Patsy Durham Cox and children Frankie Cox III and Christie Cox, all of Danville. Frankie will also be fondly remembered by his sister Tammy Cox Nales (Mark) of Ruffin, NC. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Tyler Bennington and Harleigh Cox, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of which he loved immensely.

Frankie has gone on to join his family which consists of his parents and adoring sisters in heaven Phyllis Cox Ponce, Faye Cox Knowles and Charlene L. Cox.

Frankie served proudly in the U.S. Navy and was retired from the NCDOC.

A memorial service to celebrate Frankie's life will be held at The River Church (formerly River Oak Church of God) in Danville on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Afterwards, family and friends will gather at 304 College Ave., Danville, VA 24541.
