Obituary for Elizabeth May Adkins Motley

Elizabeth May Adkins Motley, 80, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019. She was born on July 30, 1938 to the late Tommy Jackson Adkins and Lessie Haley Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Calvin Lewis Motley.

Mrs. Motley worked as a quality control technician in the textile industry and was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Elizabeth Motley of Rocky Mount, VA; sisters, Burnice Eversole of Tampa, FL, Leara Rigney and husband Ronald of Danville, VA, Dean Collins of Danville, VA, and Ethel Poindexter of Snow Creek, VA; brother, Michael Adkins and wife Callie of Ridgeway, VA; and brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Dotsie Motley of Snow Creek, VA. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews as well as her beloved pet, Scottie.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Rocky Mount, VA with Reverend Keith Floyd officiating.
