Obituary for Willie Davis Hankins

Willie Davis Hankins, 90, of Danville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Sovah Health Danville. She was born September 26, 1927, in Danville to the late Annie Roxie Shelton Merricks and the late Willie Cecil Davis. Mrs. Hankins was also preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Earl Hankins. She worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken for 28 years, retiring at 85; she loved to cook and bake cakes and pies. Mrs. Hankins was a member of River Oak Church of God.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Clara Hankins of the residence, and Charlene H. Dameron (Russell) of Danville.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hankins was predeceased by her grandson, Dale Dameron, as well as three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Rev. Wayne Aaron officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, Gretna, Va.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 16, 2018, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, and at other times at the residence.
