Obituary for Waverly Lee Stallings

Waverly Lee Stallings, age 73 of 2922 Mosco Rd., Axton, VA passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1944 in Java, VA to the late Waverly Luther Stallings and Pauline Setliff Stallings of Danville. Mr. Stallings was married to Glenda Boswell Stallings who survives of the residence. He attended Sheldon Baptist church. Waverly loved to play golf and fish with his sons. Prior to his retirement he owned and operated Stallings Construction Company.

In addition to his Mother and wife Glenda, he is survived by three sons, Gregory “Grizz” Stallings and wife Kim of Dry Fork, VA, Scott Stallings and wife Amy of Danville and Jason Stallings of Lynchburg, VA: a sister, Barbara S. Shorter and husband Paul of Danville: Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his father he was predeceased by two brothers Roger W. Stallings and Gary B. Stallings.

A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541 with Rev. David Hatcher officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
