Obituary for Scott Harter Wade

Scott Harter Wade, 53, passed away March 11, 2018. He was born November 24, 1964 in Martinsville, VA. He graduated from Martinsville High School. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 264. He spent four years in the United States Navy, mostly aboard the USS Mt. Baker. He graduated from Patrick Henry Community College with a welding certificate. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked as a welder and in maintenance until he became disabled.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles H. and Louise U. Wade of Albuquerque, NM and William D. and Leone S. Price of Martinsville, VA.

He is survived by his parents, Charles M. and Sondra P. Wade of Avon Park, FL and Woolwine, VA and a brother, Kelly D. Wade of Raleigh, NC and his fiancée' and caregiver, Leashia Rivers of Martinsville, VA

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Smith River Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Stuart, VA with Pastor Danny Gilley officiating with military honors performed by the Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smith River Church of the Brethren, 2282 Bob White Road, Stuart, VA 24171 or to the Patrick County Honor Guard, C/O Tom Inman, 426 Big A School Rd., Stuart, VA 24171.
