Obituary for Roy Clinton Arnold

I have fought the good fight;
I have finished my race.

Roy Arnold entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 22, 2017. Roy was born April 1, 1932, the son of the late Roy M. Arnold and Iola Russell Arnold in Halifax, VA.

The family moved to Danville when he was a child. He was employed by Dan River Mills. He worked in the Graphics Dept. retiring as manager with fifty years of service. On October 28, 1950, he married the love of his life Betty Hudson Arnold.

He was a devoted daddy and papa. He loved his family, worked hard to give them a good life, always ready to listen and quick to help. He led by example always.

He was a dedicated man of God. He served Central Blvd. Church of God as choir director, council member, church clerk, Sunday School Supt. and beloved Sunday School teacher.

Left to cherish his memory his wife Betty Arnold. Daughters Deborah A. Quinn (Michael) and Sharon A. Bernard (Bryant). Grandchildren Kimberly Pyron, Steven Quinn, Eric Arnold, Ashley Q. Myers, Bryan Bernard and Brittany B. Martin. Fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A brother Douglas Arnold and a sister Barbara Irby and a host of cherished nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Larry C. Arnold and sisters Vera Ganey, Lillian McMillian and Dorothy Burnett.

The family will receive friends at Norris Funeral Home, Mt. Hermon Chapel, Tuesday, October 24th, 7 - 8:30 p.m. Celebration of Life Service, Wed. October 25th, 2017 at Central Blvd. Church of God at 2 p.m.
