Obituary for Ronald Eugene "Papa" Setliff

Ronald Eugene “Papa” Setliff, 74, of Danville, Va., passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, at his residence. He was born May 21, 1943, in Danville, Va., to the late Claudia Crabb and the late Charles Setliff. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Baker Setliff. Mr. Setliff worked as a department overseer at Dan River Mills for 40 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Setliff was a member of the Pathway Church of God.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Setliff is survived by his daughters, Tammy McClanahan (Ricky), Kimberly Coder (Mike), his son Ronald Setliff, II (Nancy), and his sister-in-law, Darlene Agnor; as well as his grandchildren, Katie Prillaman (Brad), Zach McClanahan, Elisabeth Coder and Andrew Coder.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, and other times at the residence.

Following the visitation, funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Highland Burial Park, with Rev. Joe Hopkins officiating.
