Obituary for Myron Eller, Sr.

Myron “Ed” Eller, Sr., age 85, departed this earth on September, 21, 2017. He was born on December 19, 1931 to the late James Howard and Myrtle Durham Eller of Ridgeway, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and one infant brother.

Ed spent most of his life raising cattle, building modified and hobby racecars, and retired from North American Housing in Boones Mill, Virginia. One of his passions was raising hogs and making sausage for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Clovis Gregory Eller of Martinsville, VA; and son, Dr. M. Edward Eller, Jr., of Stanleytown, VA. His greatest joy in his later life was his adopted grandchildren, Reagan, Riley, Ryan, and his darling little Reece Joyce. She loved him dearly. And their mother, Renee Joyce, who cared for his wife’s mother in her later years, spent many hours helping her “Poppa” as his caregiver in his last few years. He is also survived by a great niece, Suzanne Stoneman of Roanoke, VA, who was raised in the home since childhood.

All services are to be private. There will be a special Celebration of Life to be held at the home, 670 Dick and Willie Avenue, Preston Road, Martinsville, VA, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at which time family and friends are welcomed.
