Obituary for Michael John Sauer

Michael John Sauer, 67, of 4980 Whitmell School Road, Dry Fork, Va. passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, at Danville Regional Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1949, in California to the late Marcella Duesing Sauer and the late Edward P. Sauer. Mr. Sauer is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Ann Sauer. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Mr. Sauer proudly served in US Army – a Vietnam Vet and War Hero.

Mr. Sauer worked as a contractor technician for 45 years for several communication companies; for the last 11 years, he worked for Century Link. Mr. Sauer will be remembered by his family as a loving, giving, big-hearted person. He was also hardworking and very dedicated to his family. Mr. Sauer was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Sauer is survived by his daughters, Tina S. Allen and Andrea Berry; his sister, Terry S. Griffith, his brother, Mark Sauer, Sr. and his nephew, Mark Sauer, Jr.; as well as his grandchildren, Hailey Sauer, Hunter Allen, Joseph Allen, Alexander Yankish, Kylie Berry and Kaelyn Berry.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the residence, 4980 Whitmell School Road, Dry Fork.
