Obituary for Mabel Cash Pribble

Mabel Ruth Cash Pribble, 100, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Runk & Pratt Assisted Living, Leesville Road, Lynchburg.

Born, December 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Cash and Linnette Campbell Cash.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie E. Pribble; sisters, Annie C. Wylie and Edith C. Campbell; brothers, Samuel L. Cash, Walker Raymond Cash, Sr., and Roy E. Cash; sisters-in-law, Christine Cash, and Margaret C. Cash; son-in-law, Claude Alvin Christian; and great-grandson, Nathan E. Pribble

She is survived by a son, Leland E. Pribble (Dorothy); daughters, Linda P. Scruggs (Louis), Faye P. Littrell (Thomas), and Elsie P. Christian; sister-in-law, V. Louise C. Cash; grandchildren, William L. Pribble (Robin), Laurie P. Owen (Jack), Zachary R. Scruggs, Chad E. Scruggs, Kelly A. McCoy, M. Kate McCoy, Susan Littrell, Amy L. Donley (Tim), Molly L. Griffin (Stephen), Diane C. Hulme (Mark) and Rev. David A. Christian; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Remembering, with deep affection, her warm smile, devotion and generosity to family and friends, her family is blessed to have had her as Mother/Grandmother/Friend. She enjoyed singing, tending her flowers, hiking and camping, quilting and sewing, and gardening. She was an active member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church for many years.

Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Runk & Pratt Assisted Living, Leesville Road, and Seven Hills Hospice for dedicated care and many kindnesses.

A private graveside service will be held in the family cemetery.
