Obituary for John Brian Jones

John Brian Jones, 50, of Danville, Va., passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018, at his residence. He was born December 13, 1967, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, to Lola Upperman Jones and the late John Jones. Mr. Jones was also preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Raye Jones. He enjoyed NASCAR, motorcycle riding, and spending time at Smith Mt. Lake. Mr. Jones was a co-owner with Stan Johnson of Double J Builders. He attended Dan River Church.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Jones is survived by his sister, Linda Burdett and family, of Berea, Ohio; his sister in law, Anika Hodnett, and her husband, Robert and son, Logan Morris; his girlfriend, Phyllis Scarce, and her children, Noah and Kaylee, whom Brian loved deeply; as well as Rachel and Thomas Patton, his mother and father in law.

In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Jones was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke., Danville, Va., with Rev. Scott Randlett and Rev. Becky Moss officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the funeral home prior to the service.
