Obituary for Hughie Dix

Mr. Hughie Dix, age 88 went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, October 8, 2017 in Danville, VA. He was born April 19, 1929 in Danville, VA to the late James Green Dix and the late Minnie Lee Booth Dix. Hughie was married to the love of his life Evelyn Burchett Dix for sixty six wonderful years. He was a faithful member of Riveroak Church of God for 70 years. Mr. Dix worked as a machine operator for Dan River Inc. prior to his retirement.

In addition to his wife Evelyn he is survived by two daughters, Darlene Thompson and husband Bobby of VA beach, VA and Sandra Wood of Danville; two sons, Rodney Dix and wife Debra of Myrtle Beach, SC and Leonard Jerry Dix and wife Florence of Axton, VA; four grandchildren, Denise Caudron and husband Tom, Brandy Burke, John Thompson and wife Michelle and Wayne Dix and wife Caroline and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a number of brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 13th, 2017 at Danville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Ron Hill and Pastor Jackie Poe officiating.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541 and other times at the residence.
