Obituary for Edward Douglas Foster

Edward Douglas Foster, known as “Dougie Fresh”, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017, after a brief illness at SOVAH Medical Center. Edward was born September 12, 1947, in Pittsylvania County to the late George E. and Mary Fuller Foster.

The oldest of six siblings, Edward was educated in the Pittsylvania County Public School System. He retired from the Branch Banking & Trust Company.

Edward was united in marriage to Sylvia Colton Foster and to this union was born one child.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Cheryl La’Nelle Foster; one sister, Janet F. Terry; five brothers – Duane C. Foster, Reginald D. Foster, George E. Foster, Ronta D. Foster and Derreke A. Foster, all from Danville, Va.; four aunts, one uncle and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis M. Foster and Carroll D. Foster.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel. At other times, the family will receive friends at 2273 Robin Hood Drive, Danville, Va.
