Obituary for Dorothy Ida Kidd

Dorothy Ida Kidd, 96, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her home. She was born on May 24, 1920 to the late James “Jack” Holland and Victoria Woods Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfrice Kidd; daughter, Shirley White; and son, Ervin Kidd.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Via, Dorothy Waller, Georgia Hairston, Vickie Strickland, and Iris Taylor all of Martinsville, VA; sons, Junior Kidd, James Kidd, Jesse Kidd, Anthony Kidd all of Martinsivlle, VA, Joseph Kidd of Killeen, TX, Bobby Lee Kidd of Savannah, GA, and Bishop Fred B. Kidd of Danville, VA; brothers, Elder Edward Holland of Martinsville, VA, and John Holland of Philadelphia, PA. Also surviving are 76 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Galilean House of Worship with Dr. Rorrer Morrison officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel. Burial will be at Carver Memorial Gardens.
