Obituary for Dexter Kenneth Mullins, Sr.

Dexter K. Mullins, Sr., 93, of Bassett, VA slipped away peacefully at Duke Regional Hospital Wednesday, August 15, 2018. He was born July 10, 1925 in Henry, VA to the late Clyde and Judd Mullins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor Jean “Cot” Stone Mullins who shared memories for 61 years; and two brothers, Carl and Charles Mullins.

He was retired from the United States Marine Corps after 26 years of service. He served during World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War. He was a member of Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Dexter Mullins, Jr. and Don Mullins, both of Bassett, VA.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville, VA. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 am to 12 noon. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church, 2805 Riverside Dr, Bassett, VA 24055.
