Obituary for Dennis F. Smith

Dennis F. Smith, 64, of 125 Arnett Blvd., Danville, Va., passed away at his residence, Tuesday April 25, 2017. He was born in Danville on May 1, 1952 to the late Ophelia Maddox Smith and the late Frank F. Smith.

Dennis was employed as manager for local convenient stores in the Danville area. He was a member of Union Church and enjoyed NASCAR and was a Jimmy Johnson fan. Dennis was a Washington Redskin’s fan and an avid runner, participating in many 5K marathons.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by one sister, Debra Mills and a brother, Danny Smith. Surviving is a nephew, Jeff Mills and wife Teresa; a great nephew, Jeffrey Mills; his best friend and caregiver, David A. Craddock, Sr.; his cousin, Wanda Matthews and his loving companion, Miles.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Rev. Justin Dickerson and David A. Craddock, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel prior to the service.
