Obituary for Clifford Henry Kesler

Clifford Henry Kesler, 97, of Collinsville, VA passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born on June 24, 1920 in Ferrum, VA to the late Steve Kesler and Minnie Akers Kesler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Aileen Ratliff Kesler; sisters, Eula Robertson, Erma Moorefield, and Eva Wray; brothers, Maynard Kesler, and Steve Kesler, Jr.

Mr. Kelser served in the United States Army in the European Theatre during WWII and landed on Utah Beach on D-Day. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and was an avid golfer and bowler.

He is survived by his daughters, Dixie Riehm and husband Jim of Raleigh, NC, and Yvonne Price and husband Leonard of Collinsville, VA. He is also survived by his grandsons, Jason Price and his wife Pam, and Alex Riehm; granddaughter, Courtney Brammer; great-grandchildren, Colton and Keagan Price.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Rev. Larry Cheek officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Collinsville and other times at the daughter’s home, Yvonne Price, Beaver Ridge Road, Collinsville, VA. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park with Military Rites conducted by the Martinsville and Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
