Obituary for Bruce Anthony Hylton

Bruce Anthony Hylton, 59, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on June 8, 1958 in Rocky Mount, VA to the late, Eunice Dowdy Hylton and Robert Cleveland Hylton, Sr.

Mr. Hylton was a member of Collinsville Church of the Brethren. He was a teacher for more than 25 years at G.W. High School and Gibson Middle School and also coached football at G.W. High School.

He is survived by his brothers, Robert C. Hylton, Jr. and Steven D. Hylton; nephews, Jonathan C. Hylton (Erika) and Ben R. Hylton (Juni); and great-niece, Valentina Hylton. Also surviving is the Hylton family of Figsboro, VA, Dowdy family of Rocky Mount, VA; and the Warren family and Faw family of South Carolina.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November, 18, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Roy McVey officiating. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park.
