Obituary: Lynchburg and Amherst


Billy Wayne Hudson, 75, of Gladstone passed away, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Lynchburg.

Born February 11, 1943, Mr. Hudson was the son of the late Lawrence Bascom and Lillian Driscoll Hudson. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and Construction Foreman for George E. Jones and Sons, Amherst.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Geneva H. White and six brothers: Bascom, Landon, Mike, Ray, Irvin and Russell Hudson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Clara Jones Hudson; two daughters: Brenda Hudson Watts (Billy) and Janice Hudson Watts (Hugh) all of Gladstone; one brother, Jerry Walker Hudson (Betty) of Appomattox; six grandchildren: Jared Andrew Watts, Courtney Blair Watts, Brittany Nicole Watts, Jonathan Durwin Watts, Sylvia Watts Keller and Brian Michael Watts; seven great-grandchildren: Ember Marie Zoey Stevens, Madilyn Rose Watts, Chancellor Wayne Ray Watts, Chase Alvin Watts, Bryce Carter Morgan, Maryanna Harris and Brian Michael Watts, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend, Tom Hall and numerous other great friends and a devoted companion, Jack Russell, Jilly.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 pm, Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Janice and Hugh Watts.
