Obituary for Arnetta Hairfield Robertson

Arnetta Hairfield Robertson, 100, of Martinsville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 2, 1916, in Franklin County, VA, to the late John William Hairfield and Sarah Bollings Hairfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harry Robertson; a son, Bobby Wayne Robertson; and daughter, Erma Eldean Mills; a brother, Clarence Hairfield; and sister, Elizabeth Hairfield Perdue.

Mrs. Robertson retired from Bassett Walker Knitting Mill having served there for 20 years. She was also an active member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church until she became unable to attend.

She is survived by two sons, Harry Wilfred Robertson and wife Sarah, and C.J. Robertson and wife Myrtle; six grandchildren, Tim, Ricky, Eddy Dean, Robbie, Kevin, and Kirk; and eleven great grandchildren.

Arnetta was known to be a very loving and caring person.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Dr. G.H. Vaughn officiating. A visitation lunch will be following the burial and be at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church, friends and family invited.
