Obituary for Annie Flippen Cannaday

Annie Flippen Cannaday, 82, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at her home. She was born on December 4, 1934 in Bassett, VA to the late Irene and Owen Elijah Flippen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia “Gail” Cannaday Layman and a sister, Sadie Williams.

Mrs. Cannaday was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

Annie is survived by her husband, Victor A. Cannaday of the home; daughters, Terry Cannaday Smith of Stokesdale, NC and Sharon Cannaday Fellows and husband Randy of Henry, VA; son, Victor “Steve” Cannaday of Martinsville, VA; brothers, Floyd Flippen and James “Buddy” Flippen; sister, Dorothy Hammock; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services and other times at the home. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
